Dr. Jerry Baker received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the State University of NY at Albany, and a doctor of optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. After graduation, he started his optometric practice in the offices of Dr. Schiele Brewer. A year later, he established the first optometry clinic at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. He also provided optometric care at the Rome State School for a number of years.
In 1983, Dr. Baker moved his Rome practice in to the offices of Dr. Harold Lloyd. In 1986, Dr. Baker joined Dr. Brewer and Dr. Ronald Poulin to build a new office at 581 Main St. in Oneida, NY. The EyeCare Center of Oneida was established by Dr. Baker and Dr. Poulin shortly after at the same location. The EyeCare Center of Rome was founded after Dr. Lloyd retired and turned his practice over to Dr. Baker. In 2002, Dr. Baker moved the Rome EyeCare Center to its current location on Floyd Avenue. Dr. Baker is a member of the American Optometric Association, a past president of the Mohawk Valley Optometric Society and previously served on the Board of Directors of the New York State Optometric Association. He is currently a member of the Contact Lens Society of the AOA. Dr. Baker enjoys caring for every family member from toddler to senior citizen. He has over 30 years of experience fitting every type of contact lens available. Dr. Baker also has extensive experience in diagnosing and managing ocular diseases of all types. He lives in Oneida with his wife, Cheryl. They have three grown children.

Dr. Poulin is a graduate of Jamesville-De Witt High School and Syracuse University. He did his post graduate work in Chicago at the Illinois College of Optometry where he recieved his Doctor of Optometry degree, Magna Cum Laude in 1975. On October 1, 1975 he began seeing patients in Camden and soon thereafter he began his practice in Oneida.
Dr. Poulin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optmetry (FAAO), and a member and former president of the Mohawk Valley Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He has held many positions within these organizations and most recently has been the Medicare liaison for Upstate New York. Dr. Poulin also has been a member of the Rotary Club of Oneida and is a Paul Harris Fellow within that organization.
Dr. Poulin is continually learning and searching for new and better ways to improve the practice and has a geniune concern for the needs of his patients. Dr. Poulin see's patients in our Camden and Oneida locations.
He and his wife Kathyann Choquette Poulin live in Camden. They enjoy their five children, Chelsey, Timothy, Shelby, Jason ,Katelyn and granddaughters Alea & Malory.
Dr. Coleman currently practices in the Mexico, Camden & Oneida offices.
Dr. Brandi Coleman joined our practice in December of 2003 and currently sees patients in our locations at Mexico, Camden, and Oneida. A Mohawk Valley native, Dr. Coleman grew up in Verona where she attended the VVS schools. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. John Fisher College, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a minor in chemistry.
Dr. Coleman is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Optometry where she graduated in the top of her class. She specialized in ocular disease during her externships and completed clinical internships in primary care, contact lens, low vision, in addition to pediatrics & vision therapy. Dr. Coleman was a member of the International Optometric Honor Society and was awarded the Vision Service Plan Scholarship for excellence in the area of primary care. She currently divides her time between the Mexico, Camden, and Oneida offices.
Dr. Coleman is a resident of Brewerton where she enjoys her free time with her husband Sean, and three children Riley, Luke and Sage.
Dr. Vinci currently practices in the Camden, Rome, Boonville and Oneida offices.
Dr. Vinci was raised in the Rome area. After graduating he received a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude from St. John Fisher and a Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He completed his optometric externships in W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisburg, NC. Advanced EyeCare with Dr. Sarit Catchatoorian in Charlotte, NC and Wrigley Eye Associates in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Vinci obtained honors recognition upon completion of both externships. He also completed an internship at The Institute in Philidelphia, PA, specializing in pediatrics and low vision, as well as providing primary care, emergency, & glaucoma services.
Dr. Vinci prides himself in giving his absolute best to his patients. You may see Dr. Vinci in four of your current locations; he divides his time between the Boonville, Rome & Oneida offices. His true concern and friendliness towards his patients make him a true asset to the EyeCare Centers of CNY.
Dr. Vinci recently purchased his first home in Rome near parents Anthony & Camille Vinci.
